Mae, Mandisa and Edge. Scary expenses. Still need help!
We raised quite a bit toward our huge October bill. But we still need a lot of help!
As of right now, Mae's fund has $35 and still needs $1215. Mandisa, who is scheduled for surgery at the Animal Eye Clinic has $580 but still needs $720. Finally, little Edge Galvez, who had a mis-placed pin in his leg has only $50 but needs another $700.
Please help us continue to help these little dogs. If you have ideas for fundraisers - like art to auction/raffle, garage sales, things that can be sold, etc. please let me know what you can do to help. We, like all rescues right now, are struggling with way, way too many dogs and way, way to little funding!
You know the economy is hitting everyone hard. We're working as hard as we can to not allow any of these very needy dogs to die! Please help!
We thought Halloween and scary times were long gone, but no, we just got the October statement from our vet. AHHHHH!
This past year, our vet costs at our regular vet went up - by almost double. I can't complain, the prices we paid were very low and he hadn't raised prices for several years. But, yikes, during this economic downturn, with more and more dogs being homeless and with a lot less disposable income, times for us are hard.
In the past, we typically handled most expenses other than very expensive surgeries with adoption fees, local fundraisers and general donations. Today, we're hurting.
Just this past month, here are just a couple of the things we had to do...

Mae Davis - you know what all Mae has been through - she's on the cusp of being completely FIXED, but the surgical site inside her mouth opened up TWICE in the past couple of months, requiring additional surgeries. GCVS gave us a huge break and charged only $500 and $750 for two separate surgeries to repair the damage, but still. We need help now with Mae's final (I hope) bill.
Thanks to Vicki Wakefield and Gail Ciesielski for the donations to date.

Mandisa Katy - Mandisa had to have urgent bladderstone surgery. I didn't even have time to do a blog about her until after the fact. So far, we've raised $580. She's recovering well, but we still need $800 to pay little Mandisa's bills.
Thanks to Fur Kids, Barbara Moran, Sandra Brehm, Jeannie Flexer, Gail Ciesielski, Sunny and Robert Goldberg, Linda Downs, Anna Dee Lastick, Christine Hutchison, Jill Kirk, Lorraine Bucklan, Lorna Van De Weile, Marilyn Radler, Lisa Hatlestad from Charlie who could be Mandisa's brother, Larina Campbell, Ann Ervin, Doug Cameron, Gail Ciesielski, Julie Roberts, Barbara Grabell, Janet Bello for donations for Mandisa so far. If you can help us raise the rest for her, please DONATE for her via PAYPAL HERE.

Edge Galvez - Edge came to us from another rescue. He had orthopedic surgery at a regular vet to fix a broken leg. Unfortunately weeks after the break was repaired with a pin and plate, he still wasn't using the leg. We took him to GCVS to Dr. Brian Beale for a consult. Dr. Beale thought the pin looked like it was either too long for Edge's leg or that it had shifted. Regardless, it seemed that the pin was causing pain. Dr. Beale removed the pin and charged us only $750. Within five days, Edge was using the leg. This one put us in the hole. Can you please help us so we can continue to help these little fluffies.
Thanks to Amanda Tellez for donations for Edge to date. If you can help, CLICK HERE to donate to Edge via Paypal.
